MAK Eco Bag for a Better World
& Green Environment
An eco-friendly innovation from jute fibre. This project was initiated as a pilot initiative in 2017 with the vision of reducing plastic pollution and promoting sustainable alternatives.

The Inventor of MAK Eco Bag
Dr. Mubarak Ahmad Khan is a renowned Bangladeshi scientist recognized for his significant contributions to jute-based polymer research and sustainable materials science.
The MAK Eco Bag project was initiated by Dr. Khan in 2017 as a pilot initiative aimed at developing biodegradable alternatives to single-use plastic. His research focuses on transforming jute cellulose into environmentally friendly biopolymer solutions.

Jute as a Biopolymer
Jute is one of the most important crops of Bangladesh and one of the highest cellulose-containing natural plants. It is a renewable and environmentally friendly resource, making it highly suitable for biopolymer production.

- • Increases the fertility of land
- • Absorbs CO₂ and emits O₂
- • Helps to make air clean
- • Preserves the ozone layer
- • One hectare of jute plant absorbs 15 tons of CO₂
- • Has a strong positive impact on the environment
- • Jute is used as vegetables, geotextiles, biogas, and biodegradable products
MAK Eco Bag
Introducing the MAK Eco Bag — a sustainable solution and an eco-friendly companion for a greener planet. It is made from cellulose-based biopolymer derived from jute, the golden fibre of Bangladesh.
Jute is a renewable natural resource, and the MAK Eco Bag degrades harmlessly into the environment, leaving no trace behind. This innovation directly addresses the environmental challenges caused by single-use plastic products.

MAK Eco Bag Made Better for Environment
MAK Eco Bag is made and crafted with care to support a better environment. The innovative creation is designed with the goal of reducing natural waste and promoting sustainability.
By embracing environmentally responsible materials and production processes, MAK Eco Bag becomes an active part of the solution for a greener and cleaner world.
Completely Plastic-Free & Biodegradable
MAK Eco Bag is a true game-changer. It is completely plastic-free and biodegradable, embodying a strong commitment to protecting the planet.
This innovation encourages the transition away from harmful plastics and supports a sustainable future where products return safely to nature after use.

Key Features of MAK Eco Bag
A biodegradable biopolymer solution designed to replace single-use plastic bags safely and sustainably.

Alternative to Single-Use Plastic Bag
The MAK Eco Bag is famed for its water-soluble feature, which allows it to dissolve safely in both regular and marine water within seven (7) days.
In landfill conditions, the bag decomposes naturally within one hundred twenty (120) days. Its liquid casting production process enables efficient recycling and allows the same machinery to be used for transforming previously used bags.
- • Dissolves in water within seven (7) days
- • Decomposes in landfill within one hundred twenty (120) days
- • Marine-safe and environmentally responsible
- • Efficient recycling through liquid casting

Significance of MAK Eco Bag
MAK Eco Bag represents a breakthrough in biodegradable biopolymer innovation. It combines environmental responsibility with functional strength, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic materials.
- • MAK Eco Bag is a biodegradable biopolymer made from jute cellulose
- • Totally biodegradable, compostable, water soluble, recyclable, and sustainable
- • Does not melt in fire like plastic materials; produces ash during incineration
- • Can be customized as per consumer requirements (water soluble, water resistant, etc.)
- • Raw materials are renewable and abundantly available
- • Production processes are simple and environmentally friendly
Practical Applications & Use Cases
MAK Eco Bag is designed for versatile use across multiple industries and everyday applications.
